Elidoris
the Beginning
Many ages ago the creator of life, CoiaOntar, the
Almighty Creator, gave birth to his godlings, these are the
many many lesser gods of the universe. Of these lesser gods
many were good natured, many were not, and these two alignments
constantly bickered as siblings always do. However these godlings
eventually began to bicker over their Father's later Creations,
the mortals, using them as pawns in their many games of rivalry
between each other.
CoiaOntar loved the creations of the material plane most
of all his other creations, the sun and moon with their stars,
plants and animals, the elves and dwarves, and finally the
mortal men the latest of his creations. These mortal races
and creatures and even some of the lesser spirits both good
and evil in nature revered the godlings for their many different
aspects.
However there was one godling that loved CoiaOntar with all
his soul, and mourned the petty bickering that caused his
siblings trivial wars of rivalry. Eli, revered amongst many
of the high elves for his reverence of natural life, devised
a way to prevent the other gods from accessing the Material
plane and thus protecting it and all its life from the affairs
of the gods. It was prophesied that he planned this 'conception'
by way of the Elves, by far the most knowledgeable and understanding
of the mortal races. The Queen of the Elven Lands of Elidoris,
gave birth to a male child and named him Zardra. Zadra erected
a monument to Eli, called Stonehenge. This monument was actually
a gateway to the other ordly planes and prevented the warring
godlings access to the material plane of men. The prophecy
was fulfilled!
Elidoris and the mortal plane entered an age of prosperity.
Eli came to be known as the protector of life, forever preventing
further tribulation placed on the mortal plane by the trivial
godlings, Elidoris grew and thrived for ages as did the lands
of men, elves and dwarves.
Occasionally there were other supernatural battles fought
upon one of the many other planes of the universe, where the
godlings fought amongst themselves, gaining influence and
control over the mortal realm. For centuries, eons even these
battles continued, rivals for supremacy with supernatural
armies going unknown to most on the mortal plane. Eli himself
or even at times his brother Metatron, the justice giver,
often engaged with their brother Tak' rik, the godling of
deception, when he would go too far in his attempts to influence
the mortals. At one point this rivalry spilled over into the
mortal realm and a demon host that caused unspeakable destruction
in the world of men plagued the lands of Elidoris. Though
this wicked host was defeated the cost it left behind was
high, the majority of the elves did not survive this some
of those who did left the lands for refuge with the good aligned
godlings. Tak'rik returned to the abyssal plane to gather
his might once more as this was always the cycle of things
Elidoris though scarred healed in yet another age of peace
the once native Elven lands were once agin growing and being
populated by various other races.
After many ages of this ongoing supernatural warfare, there
was yet another godling, the golding Dephn, whom also had
found a way past Eli's protection. The goddess of vengeance
she was most wicked indeed. She found a way to enter the mortal
plane herself, manifested by way of meteor, and methodically
manipulated men into eradicating nearly every magical user
over many lands to locate her brethren Eli. It is for this
reason that wizards and mages have become less and less tolerated
in the world of men, and are the rare case now instead of
a majority. This was the first direct attack of vengeance
upon the mortal races by any godling in millennia. And it
was at this time that Eli revealed his fulfilled prophesy.
Zardra the elf king whom The Lands of Elidoris had thrived
under for so many hundreds of centuries was in fact Eli.
Dephn was thought to have been defeated by Eli though at
the cost of his existence on this the mortal plane. Zardra
died, Eli vanished and the lands of Elidoris were left in
the hands of a boy king and his two siblings and the few remaining
elven elders as his advisors.
Though of course as only the wisest of the scholars now know,
only one can truly defeat the godlings, CoiaOntar. Both Dephn
and Eli had returned again to other planes of reality where
they continued to bicker like the children CoiaOntar knew
them to be. The mortal races of Elidoris and even its outer
reaches, pray and many even plot each taking sides in this
battle between good and evil godlings, ignorant of their abuse
as pawns in the Wars of Rivalry.
All the while in the mortal realm:
Elidoris goes through massive changes as the human boy is
preparing to take the throne upon his sixteenth birthday.
As expected growing turmoil over the fact that a human has
been left to rein over the once native elven kingdom has sprouted
and even as we speak a form of revolt could be seen looming
in the distance. A council of regents was formed to take power
until their king’s birthday but with the looming power
struggle and civil unrest it wouldn’t be a huge surprise
if this council seized power.
Deep within legend, the power struggle over greed by men
grew further as rumours arise of a key, a key of unimaginable
possibilities that not only could give you, the holder, the
power of the gods in your hands but allow entrance into the
immortal planes! Many have searched for this artefact and
many more have died in keeping its secrets! Will men be able
to seize the key and protect it from the goldings or will
it and their greed corrupt them?
In a land where immortals reign, wizards reside, and heroes
are born; imagine the impossible!
Happy
Adventuring!
