Community
Etiquette & Guidelines
~We encourage all players regardless
of ability or experience, to read over our community etiquette
prior to posting in any active role plays. By doing so we
hope all role players will have a more enjoyable role playing
experience. ~
Courtesy
and Respect
1.
We insist respect is given to all members of the RPG Community
... it is essential. These are real people behind these imagined
characters, and should be treated with respect and fairness.
A lack of respect for other individuals will cause conflict,
delay role plays, and create stress in the community. Respect
the other players, the staff and they will in turn respect
you.
2. Our community is one for all to enjoy, regardless of age.
The role plays and stories are encouraged to be tasteful and
appropriate for even our youngest players. Abusive language
and the role play of explicit sexual acts are not permitted.
Children have access to read what is posted, and we make every
effort to protect them from inappropriate material in our
community. A pass protected forum, with the authorization
of an admin will allow for limited ‘questionable’
content to be posted and or read by adults over the age of
18 only. These Halls of Freedom are our community’s
pass protected forum, and are located in the Out of Character Section of the Message Board Forums.
3.
Flaming, slander or derogatory statements POSTED by players
in reference to another, will not be tolerated by any including
Staff. Any situation that you feel falls under this, please
contact the Admin Staff. Offenders will be dealt with quickly.
We remind players that while we make every effort to keep
such remarks off of our message boards, we have no control
over what you engage in with others over instant messengers.
Please to do not bother the staff with “he said she
saids” originating on Im’s.
4. Admin Staff are here to encourage and add to your role
play experience while politely enforcing the Community Etiquette.
It is a player’s responsibility to know the Etiquette
and guidelines, not a staff member. During conflict between
players, or contests between role plays your Admin Staff Member’s
word is final. Please respect it.
5.
Antagonistic role players and or evil aligned characters aid
in providing more interesting scenarios for us all. The good
guy would not be good if there was not the bad guy, and visa
versa. We need to interact with and endure evil characters
and their actions. Holding grudges against role players for
the actions of their evil aligned characters is not acceptable.
Posting Guidelines
1. ALL comments made "Out of Character” will be
deleted from the IN Character posts in any of the role playing
forums. Your post will be edited by a member of staff, to
remain free of idle OOC chatter and strictly In Character
story. All OOC will be posted in one of the various Out
of Character fourms.
2.
The Banter
for Spammersis the public community OOC forum. Everyone
has access to this forum for out of character conversation.
We also have specific forums for Role
Play Discussions and Game Support. Many resources for
the beginner and veteran role player alike can be found in
the community Role Playing Discussion Forum or in the Member
Resource Menu at the left of this page.
3. Signature testing, changes, help, custom banners and the
like should all be done within the proper forum. The Signature
and Image Help Forum. Again please consider the size of
your signature and request aide if need be in the appropriate
help forum.
Custom signatures used to depict
your characters must be kept tasteful. No images showing the
nipple or genitalia will be tolerated. No pornographic images
or images of explicit sexual acts of any kind are allowed.
Signature size must be kept reasonable as well. The general
size for signatures is approximately 400 pixels wide by 200
pixels high. We prefer file size not exceed 150 KB and that
you keep text above or below your siggy at no more than 5
lines. Some deviation in pixel size or file size is allowed
with prior consent from a community staff member. Please remember
that an admin can ask you to alter your signature at any time
if the size or content is unsuitable. Resizing can be done
on most images if you just ask for help. Help for various
image problems can be found in our Image Help Forums.
4. The HALLS OF FREEDOM forum -is- pass protected and only
adults 18 and older are permitted to post here. You may Request
access to the Hall of Freedom in the OOC Game Support
Forum in the designated thread. Your post should state you
are 18 or older and that you have read and will abide by our
community etiquette. FBI and other federal agencies regulate
and monitor the Internet, make responsible decisions for yourself
by doing so you will not put any of us at a risk of losing
our board.
5.
Prior to roleplaying players must submit their character creation
sheets for approval in the House of Stories forum. Admins
may ask players to edit or change anything in the character
creation sheet that does not meet the community guidleines
or standards. Upon approval characters may immediately begin
roleplaying. Players are limited to a maximum of 5 characters
for roleplay purposes. many more than this we have found,
stretches aplayer to thin and causes undue to stress. Exceptions
to this must be discussed with admins.
6. ALL Role Plays should adhere to the following: First we
strive for quality role playing here and ask that no role
plays be spam like in nature. Meaning that we ask you at least
have a 20 line minimum in your In Character posts. Second
all Role plays are considered OPEN, meaning any players may
participate. Closing a role play is permitted but your responsibility,
and can be done by adding (Closed R/P) to your post title.
A closed RP is only open for posting to those characters that
the originating player invites. Please accept this.
7. Major role plays with many characters involved will be
required to adhere to a set posting order with at least a
48 hour window for players to take their turn in the post
order. This is a courtesy to others and allows all players
from around the world enough time to reply to posts already
made. Please be flexible with your fellow players, ask for
delays if you will be unavailable for a short time. Be courteous.
8.
Regularly reading over site content, the Menu and Marquee
on the main pages and Community Etiquette will give you updates
that apply not only to possible ongoing role plays but also
to updates in Content and or operation. The News Marquee to
the left will constantly be posting information that your
character would be aware of and that you too might need to
know..
9.
Contests between players in any given role play are bound
to occur. Please keep communication open between yourself
and the other players in your roleplays. Attempt to resolve
your conflicts over role plays through private messages chats
or email. If conflicts can not be resolved or can not be done
peacefully, your forum moderator will aide you. Contact the
moderator for your reprective role play's forum through personal
message or email. At this point the staff member's decision
will be final.
Happy
Adventuring!
