News & Updates!!

Welcome to Adventures through Elidoris, a Free Form Role Playing Community! Please take a moment to browse over our site. Valuable information for all players abounds.

Players should stay up to date on the Community Etiquette for these forums! This is the responsibility of each player.

ATTENTION TO ALL ROLEPLAYERS CURRENTLY POSTING...forum wide role plays that should be considered by players in current RP are as follows:

All visitors and traffic have been diverted to and must stop at the Imperial Gates for entrance into the Empire of Elidoris and passage into T’Gatherin its Capitol City
By order of The Lady Asteria Vastrunez.

Winter will be tough as it decends upon the lands this year. A slight harvest was hampered by the lack of availble farmers to reap their crops, while men young and old are off fighting in the blood pass to secure the northern borders from all manner of monster.

Notices have been seen throughout the city.
FIGHTERS GUILD FOR HIRE-Looking for recruits! Seek the Guild Master down in the Arena.

There have been more thefts in the lands as of late and rumors of a THIEVES GUILD have begun to circulate through out the Market. Even some shady characters have been seen loitering around the Port and Ale.

A PLAGUE has spread throughout the city. Its origins still unknown have made it difficult to discover a cure or effectively treat the infected. Those infected citizens or guests should proceed to the Temple and seek aide at the infirmary.

These are on going Empire wide events that would be noted by general public in the entire city. Post accordingly in the specified RP threads. Enjoy!!!

Character Creation

Be aware of the setting our role plays occurs in before creating your character. Adventures through Elidoris is a high fantasy role playing game set in a medieval atmosphere roughly equivalent to around the 12th to 14th centuries upon a diverse continent, similar to Europe; but with a high magic content and while there is exploding powder and oil, guns have yet to be created. You may start playing as part of the setting or import you character into the setting during your first active role play.

Beginning players are asked to create a mortal character for play and post a Character Creation Sheet for that character in the House of Stories Forum prior to posting in any active role plays. (Please see Races &Limitations page for more information). Immortal characters are and may be played by members of the community but this is done only with approval of the Staff. (Please read over the basic plots in the House of Stories Forum for more information)

Character Creations Sheets MUST be approved by an admin before players may post in any active roleplays. And admin may ask players to edit or change portions of a Creation Sheet to better suit the guidelines and standards of this community, at any time. ONce your creations sheet is approved for play it will be locked, changes that must be made to your creation sheet after it is approved must be applied for in the specified thread. Changes may be necessary when your character learns new spells, feats, upgrades training, enhances the abilities or growth of their character in any way.

Developing your Character

A blank Character Creation Sheet is available for download from the menu; it should be completed and then posted in the House of Stories Forum with the Character’s Name as the Subject of the new thread. It will ask you for the following details:

RACE: Choose a mortal race such as humans, dwarves, elves. Also add to the definitions section anything that is not commonly known with regard to your character's race if it deviates from our races definitions. .To play a immortal race, players must first get permission from an admin.

ALIGNMENT & DEITY: Choose a godling from the list of known goldings or alignment if you wish to follow more than one. Please note that gods are a fact in Elidoris, as real as elves and dwarves. Most people of this specific age believe in multiple gods though some have come to understand that there is one ULTIMATE GOD a supreme creator or being if you will. This Role is NOT PLAYED by community members and is defined as CoiaOntar in our fantasy. (Please see our Races & Limitations Page for clarification )

Your character may choose to do anything as long as it fits within the medieval theme and setting of Adventures through Elidoris. If you want to start with an existing job within Elidoris, such as a barmaid at Tazar’s Inn, please contact a Staff Member prior to play.

PERSONALITY: Personality: What makes your character tick? What drives him? Why does he do the things he does? Include definitions where applicable.

ABILITIES/POWERS: This should include any and all physical abilities or mental capacities, traing experience or languages spoken and amount of schooling. A list of weapons which can wielded and at what proficiency. It will also include the level and competency at that level, which the character may perform magic if that applies. ( A specific list of spells and feats should be included for magic users. It is also important to understand the differnce between immortal magic and mortal magic, please read the races & limitations page for more information on this.) Include definitions where applicable.

Enchanted weapons and armor etc MUST be described fully with a justification of how the enchanted or imbued powers were granted.

DEFINITIONS: if applicable and pertaining to anything unique to your character. ALL DEFINTIONS should be included here.

Bringing your Character to Life

There is one final section that can be added to your Character Creation Sheet to really bring them alive in the eyes of the readers. A history (preferably in form of a sample RP) be it brief or lengthy, of their life so far. If there is little to say due to the young age and or inexperience, little needs to be said. If there is a great deal, then it makes sense to let people know about it!.

This serves two purposes. It allows us an opportunity to evaluate your writing ability and shows us what helped shape your character’s personality, what experiences in its past have made her/him who they are today.

HISTORY/SAMPLE RP: You could include in this section the region your character was born in or has previously lived in as well as its current home and or environment. If it was not on the same continent or world as Elidoris, its relationship to this setting should be established. You must account for how your character acquired all of its skills in your background story and include what your character wishes to accomplish. Justifications for all enchnated items should also be included in the characters history as should any life altering events. It should contain at least four good paragraphs (or a full page).

Another good way of breathing life into your character is to involve them in small, relatively inconsequential roleplays at first - sudden appearances of large and complex plots can be disorienting, and can conflict with other roleplays going on. Building the character into the scenery first can make them seem like part of the furniture, even if it is only over the course of a few roleplays! This helps other players feel at ease, and gives you a better grasp of your character.

Happy Adventuring!
