Character
Creation
Be aware of the
setting our role plays occurs in before creating your character.
Adventures through Elidoris is a high fantasy role playing
game set in a medieval atmosphere roughly equivalent to around
the 12th to 14th centuries upon a diverse continent, similar
to Europe; but with a high magic content and while there is
exploding powder and oil, guns have yet to be created. You
may start playing as part of the setting or import you character
into the setting during your first active role play.
Beginning players
are asked to create a mortal character for play and post a
Character Creation Sheet for that character in the House
of Stories Forum prior to posting in any active role plays.
(Please see Races &Limitations page for more information).
Immortal characters are and may be played by members of the
community but this is done only with approval of the Staff.
(Please read over the basic plots in the House of Stories
Forum for more information)
Character Creations
Sheets MUST be approved by an admin before players may post
in any active roleplays. And admin may ask players to edit
or change portions of a Creation Sheet to better suit the
guidelines and standards of this community, at any time. ONce
your creations sheet is approved for play it will be locked,
changes that must be made to your creation sheet after it
is approved must be applied for in the specified thread. Changes
may be necessary when your character learns new spells, feats,
upgrades training, enhances the abilities or growth of their
character in any way.

Bringing
your Character to Life
There
is one final section that can be added to your Character Creation
Sheet to really bring them alive in the eyes of the readers.
A history (preferably in form of a sample RP) be it brief
or lengthy, of their life so far. If there is little to say
due to the young age and or inexperience, little needs to
be said. If there is a great deal, then it makes sense to
let people know about it!.
This
serves two purposes. It allows us an opportunity to evaluate
your writing ability and shows us what helped shape your character’s
personality, what experiences in its past have made her/him
who they are today.
HISTORY/SAMPLE
RP:
You could include in this section the region your character
was born in or has previously lived in as well as its current
home and or environment. If it was not on the same continent
or world as Elidoris, its relationship to this setting should
be established. You must account for how your character acquired
all of its skills in your background story and include what
your character wishes to accomplish. Justifications for all
enchnated items should also be included in the characters
history as should any life altering events. It should contain
at least four good paragraphs (or a full page).
Another
good way of breathing life into your character is to involve
them in small, relatively inconsequential roleplays at first
- sudden appearances of large and complex plots can be disorienting,
and can conflict with other roleplays going on. Building the
character into the scenery first can make them seem like part
of the furniture, even if it is only over the course of a
few roleplays! This helps other players feel at ease, and
gives you a better grasp of your character.
Happy
Adventuring!
